Only 4.7kgs, She is not only very sick! the lack of fur causes her to burn alive, as temperatures easily reach 40°C these days. She gets wounds, just by walking… We just took her to the vet and what we thought, was confirmed: 𝗹𝗲𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮. The disease is literally eating her alive at this moment. 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶tive!
We are happy though that she ‘only’ tested positive for leish and even more her kidneys are still good! This means that she has a chance to get better again! The vet named her ‘Orinoko’! Day 8: A little roll in the grass and off to the vet she went! Orinoko currently gets Pancef and reacts well on the antibiotic course.
Her skin is much less inflamed and her wounds are disappearing. She gained 150g and weighs now a little over 5kg. Her blood improved and from the moment her wbc drop to 17, she can start with the 28-days milteforan therapy! Thank you so incredibly much for the massive support you give to this little fighter.
Day 28: Little Queen Orinoko is doing well considering the circumstances. Her WBC dropped more and we started with her milteforan therapy yesterday! Also her skin improved a lot and doesn’t ‘crack’ anymore, causing wounds when she walks. She gained almost a kg so far and went from 4.7kgs to 5.5kgs.
Sadly her eyes, despite eye cream, are being affected by leishmania. We hope that her vision slowly will start to improve after the milte course! We can not wait to see this little girl transform after her 28-day therapy! Her little ears and tail are already often up and she is just so grateful for all the help she gets!
