So many simultaneous traumas. A deep, terrible wound on his thigh. The bone was broken in his leg. His raw skin was on fire with raging mange. But up the stairs he hobbled to get close to his rescuers. His eyes seemed to plead: “Take me with you!,” and we gently said, “Yes.”
As his various treatments got underway, we realized that we had a very special boy on our hands. He practically assisted in his own treatments! We had to think of a name that expressed his astounding resilience and a kindness too big for words.
Superman’s bravery and resilience in the face of such trauma is truly inspiring. He has shown us that even in the most difficult of circumstances, there is always hope. We are so lucky to have been able to give him the care he needed to heal and be the amazing pup he is today!
