The abandoned special forces battle dog of a Russian soldier has turned sides and is now helping Ukrainians.

Max, three, was discovered malnourished and near death in a region that has witnessed some

of the most intense combat since Vladimir Putin started his invasion.

Before being handed over to Ukrainian forces, the Belgian Malinois was nursed back to health.

He’s learned Ukrainian and now works sniffing out booby traps and unexploded explosives.

“From now on, Max will serve on the right side, protecting Ukraine and nibbling Russian

butts,” said Dmitry, a member of Ukraine’s National Guard.

“Max has become a big darling among the guards,” a colleague noted.

“We’re baffled as to why the Russians would discard such a gorgeous animal.”

“Ukrainians like dogs; they consider them family members.”

Max was a member of Kremlin soldiers who had conquered a settlement near the Black Sea in

 the Mykolaiv area.

When Mad Vlad’s soldiers withdrew, he was left alone and survived by eating rotten food.

When he was discovered, he was still wearing a camouflage collar supplied to Russian military canines.

“Malinois are the same breed employed by the SAS and the SBS,” stated a British special forces

man. They are fearless, clever, and athletic creatures.

“They are devoted, but Max has definitely been persuaded that the Ukrainians are his new rulers.”

“I’m amazed that the Russians abandoned one of these creatures because they are a highly prized asset,” he continued.

“The attachment between a dog and its handler is also quite strong. It would be the equivalent

as abandoning a member of your family.”
